Sewing A New Life

Even though the circumstances had been difficult in Syria since the beginning of the revolution, Bothina Matar and her family did not think about leaving Syria until her husband, Tamam, had to join the military. With the escalation of the crisis there, joining the military meant killing people, a crime Tamam did not want to commit, so they suddenly decided to flee to Jordan. Matar lived with her family in Jordan for three years until the United Nations offered them refuge in The United States. Starting a new life from scratch is not an easy step to take in your life, however, Matar did not let this hardship keep her away from rebuilding her life and being successful. In this video interview, you will watch a story of a very brave and ambitious woman who changed her life and sewed a new one.
